Priya Raghunathan designs data systems that learn from information they are never allowed to see directly. Her federated learning framework is deployed in two hospital research networks outside the university.

Federated Learning for Privacy-Preserving Analytics

Hospitals and clinics often can't share patient data directly, even for research that could help their own patients. This project's federated learning framework trains shared models across institutions without the raw data ever leaving its source. Two partner hospital research networks are using an early version in production.

Database Systems I covers relational database design, query languages, and the principles that keep data consistent and retrievable at scale. Students design a schema from a real-world scenario, populate it, and write queries that answer genuine questions about the data.
