Cybersecurity Club Takes First Place at Regional Capture-the-Flag Championship

A five-student team from the department's Cybersecurity Club placed first among eighteen university teams at this year's regional capture-the-flag championship, solving challenges spanning web exploitation, cryptography, and reverse engineering faster than any other entrant. The team trains weekly with Professor Marcus Webb's Secure Systems Group and credits the department's isolated security lab for giving them a safe space to practice realistic attack scenarios.
