Aiko Tanaka asks who gets left out before asking what a system can do. Her ethics curriculum work has been adapted by three partner computing programs beyond Northridge.

Ethics & Responsible Computing

Ethics & Responsible Computing asks final-year students to bring everything they've learned about how to build systems face-to-face with questions about whether, and how, those systems should be built at all. The course uses case studies rather than abstract principles, several drawn from the department's own research projects.
